2 highest score artworks win Second Prize of International Reply Coupon (IRC) Design Competition
First prize was not awarded this time. The Judge Council decided to award 02 second prizes to the two highest score artworks, namely the artwork code 46235 of Designer Nguyen Hong Giang (Khuong Trung, Hanoi) and the other artwork code 09119 of Designer Nguyen Duc Lan (Ha Dong, Ha Noi). The artworks code 21212 of Designer Pham Quang Dieu (Postage Stamp Division, Vietnam Post) won the third prize.
According to the Judge Council’s assessment, the award-won artworks were closely adherent to the competition theme "Preserve the ecosystem – Protect the climate", and also ensuring to meet requirements for specification set forth by the Organization Committee. All artworks showed overarching, symbols close to life and clear ideas. Each stroke, shape or color presented designer’s creativity with different, unique and impressive style.

This artwork code 46235 of Designer Nguyen Hong Giang conveyed a clear message that Earth was in danger of destruction, each person needed to have practical actions to contribute to a green, clean, beautiful environment. Small objects were discarded, they seemed to be useless and caused environment pollution but they could become useful if we turned them into a place for green sprouts grow up.

The artwork code 09119 of designer Nguyen Duc Lan (Ha Dong, Hanoi) gives a strong impression with his idea of climate change with desertion, drought, dry rivers, or the invasion of sea and mangrove. The designer uses an eye image with falling water drops, reflecting a human eye to convey his idea. With the basic language of the graphic through Dots and Strokes combined with watercolor, the designer describes status of desertion with the sand dunes occupying cultivation land, using the focus variable to descript cracked fields, strong waves invading the soil. A hope and trust that living sprouts can overcome difficulties, still survive and grow up is reflected through the crystal child eyes.

With an aspiration from a small seed, even weak but durable, the artwork code 21212 of designer Pham Quang Dieu conveyed a confirmation that the tree itself can grow in only normal habitat. This work also reminds people of living together and keeping the human ecosystem a unified entity.
One of the award-won artworks will be selected by the Ministry of Information and Communication to apply for the UPU IRC Competition at the 27th UPU. The first prize design of this international competition will be used during the new working term of UPU (2021 – 2024).
Earlier, at the 26th World Postal Union Congress (UPU 26) in Istanbul, Turkey, the IRC design of Vietnam won the first prize in the UPU IRC Design Competition. This design was used during the working term of the 26th UPU Congress of (2017-2020).
