The special ceremony of stamp set issue: “Viet Nam’ s Seas and Islands (Set 3): Seabirds”

Located in Southeast Asia, on the East coast of the Indochina Peninsula, Viet Nam has over 3,260 km of coastline, over 1 million km2 of continental shelf, over 3,000 large and small islands and two offshore archipelagos, namely Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly). Viet Nam government and people always identify seas and islands as the strategic importance in the national defence, construction and development. To promote the image of Viet Nam country and people and propagate the conservation of Viet Nam’s marine biodiversity and the protection of the national maritime sovereignty, the Ministry of Information and Communications issues 03 stamp sets with the theme "Viet Nam’s Seas and Islands" in the years: 2018, 2020 and 2022.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Vu Hong Thanh, Director of Postal Department emphasized the intensive promotion of raising full awareness of all classes of people about sustainable marine economy development, biodiversity conservation, protection and rational exploitation of resources from the sea and protection of the national maritime sovereignty, in 2022, the Ministry of Information and Communications decided to issue the stamp set “Viet Nam’ s Seas and Islands (Set 3): Seabirds”.

Ms. Nguyen Vu Hong Thanh, Director of Postal Department expressed her sincere thanks to Ministry of National Defence and other Ministries, central and local authorities coordinated and supported effectively to provide information, documents and images for the design of the stamp set.
The stamp set “Viet Nam’ s Seas and Islands (Set 3): Seabirds” was designed by computer graphics, showing images of typical birds living in islands or coastal marshes of Viet Nam.

The stamp set "Viet Nam’s Seas and Islands (Set 3): Seabirds", including 04 stamps and 01 block with the face values of 4,000 VND, 4,000 VND, 4,000 VND, 12,000 VND and 15,000 VND; block size of 110 x 70 mm, is designed by Mr. Nguyen Du and Mr. Pham Quang Dieu (Vietnam Post).
The stamp set is available on the postal network from 24 June to 31 December 2022.
