Vietnam Post charters a flight for cargo of Vietnam Airlines in COVID-19 pandemic


This is such a special flight that Vietnam Post has cooperated with Vietnam Airlines to transport goods items, with a special priority for EMS items on Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City  mail route and vice versa  with an aim to fulfill the surpreme mission of serving the nation and people in the context of the unpredictable complexity of  COVID-19 pandemic.

For the first time, up to 10 ton of EMS goods and documents were delivered the fastest to the addressees in a reserved flight to serve regulators, individuals and businesses during this pandemic.

In the morning of April 4 2020, Vietnam Post continued loading postal items from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi on this Vietnam Airlines’s  flight.

Vietnam Post transports EMS items on the Airbus A321 every Tuesday to Saturday. Goods items are loaded on cargo and passenger compartments (passenger seats not removed) of this Airbus.

The cooperation between these two leading transportation and delivery service operators will be developed until April 15, 2020 and two parties will adjust to suite the real situation in the coming time.


This is a nation-scaled breakthrough solution to serve the best the demands of the people, businesses and society in the context that many carriers are now facing difficulties due to the flight cut-off by the COVID-19.

With the trust, support of customers and the effort to fulfill a high responsibility of a designated postal operator, Vietnam Post as the first domestic postal and delivery service provider to hire an aircraft for EMS services between the two ends of the country.

Vietnam Post not only transports the highest volume of airmail in Vietnam but also ensures a smooth work and transportation flows on all other mail routes. In particular, transportation is maintained on the North-South routes daily with 20 train carriages carrying container out of the total 100 existing containers, with a 40-hour mail route from Yen Vien railway station (Hanoi) to Song Than station (Binh Duong) and vice versa; 06 goods carriages for postal goods transportation along SE Train route from the North to South; 2,300 postal trucks with GPS navigation run regularly and smoothly; more than 14,200 motorbikes, including more than 3,200 motorbikes with Vietnam Post brand, are used for goods transporation on all mail routes.


Together with big transportation capablity, there are also over 52,000 employees on the whole postal network, especially postmen, post office staff, drivers, salemen, who are brave to maintain the network, ensure smooth communication from urban to rural areas, from mountainous areas to islands in the context of COVID-19 complexity.
