Vietnam Post reaches over 22% growth rate in 2019

President and CEO Chu Quang Hao shared that even in high competition in local market, Vietnam Post made every effort to fulfill public service obligation covering from rural areas to remote areas and to maintain business growth both in sales and profit. This achievement was thanks to great effort from all leaders and employees on the whole postal network.

Together with making full use of large network, Vietnam Post has focuses on improvement of transportation capacity by using high capacity transportation means, managing effectively postal container trains with North & South routes to speed up transportation quality to meet e-commerce customers’ demand.

In its IT transformation strategy, Vietnam Psost prioritized IT applications in all business areas, including pension electronic payment, automatic barcode reader installation, Smartlog platform for transportation services, automation in operation processes.

In 2019, Vietnam Post “scored high marks” with its successful implementation of government projects such as Vmap with 23.4 million addresses collected nationwide and combined data to input in digital map system. Vietnam Post also established database on charity addresses, national postal code system and national database on households.

One of outstanding points that Vietnam Post was recognized, highly evaluated by Vietnam government and ministries, industries is its exceeding of sales target on voluntary social security contracts with 260,000 new contracts by the end of 2019, 118% of granted plan, accounting for 90% of total voluntary social security contracts in Vietnam Social Security system.

Vietnam Post has made another big achievement in providing public services with 14 million dossiers of individuals and businesses handled in 2019. In around 30 provinces and cities, government administrative agencies have been transferred to provincial post office, including 14 province level administrative services centers, 17 one-door commune level sections and 45 one-door village level sections.

Deputy Minister Pham Anh Tuan informed that Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) highly evaluated the role and engagement of Vietnam Post in its effort to implement successfully government projects, especially e-Government project in which Vietnam Post was the first to implement with real and high results. Deputy Ministry also pointed out many challenges to postal sector, including Vietnam Post due to high competition, more license granted to businesses to join postal field; Vietnam Post was planning to expand its scale on different areas together with increase in labor forces, Vietnam Post therefore needed to find suitable solutions to avoid any failure in the future. He reminded Vietnam Post to heritage experience in previous period, to focus the trend and succeed in its digital transformation plan, to mobilize solidarity to have a revolution from awareness to action to make Vietnam Post take off in a new phase.

Vietnam Post Chairman Nguyen Hai Thanh reaffirmed of the objectives on revenue in 2020 by over 633 billion dong with the pioneering role in performing digital transformation, fully engaging in providing public services, administrative renovation to optimize business operation, speed up communication exchange speed, join e-government to support the individuals and businesses with online public services; develop business activities, improve service quality, develop and train human resources to ensure sustainable development of Vietnam Post in next periods.
