Vietnam Post's postal items dominate airmail volume


Vietnam Airlines has recently announced to reduce domestic flights due to the impact of Covid-19 pandemic. Accordingly, the total of air cargo load for EMS items will be reduced, mainly on route connecting Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City. The reduction will be applied from March 29, 2020 to April 30, 2020. On the other hand, Vietnam Post is still the preferred operator with the largest air cargo tonnage.

Since March 31, based on the air cargo load of Vietnam Airlines spared for Vietnam Post on Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City routes and vice versa, Vietnam Post (EMS) ensure to transport to meet time standards for EMS items  which are documents, EMS Urgent, EMS certain time services, EMS goods under 2kg.

From March 28 to April 15, Vietnam Airlines reduce its domestic routes from 35 to 8 and reduce by 90% of total seats.

8 domestic routes are maintained including Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City / Da Nang, from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Con Dao, Vinh, Thanh Hoa and vice versa.

Customers who are using EMS documents service will not be affected. However, customers receive/send items from airports suffering the cut-off of Vietnam Airline and Vietjet Air routes will be affected in term of delivery time.

Vietnam Post manages all postal operation on the national postal network works to ensure a stable transportation and operation network with:

20 train carriages H9/H10/North and South daily routes;

6 express train carriages/North and South daily routes

Over 120 15-ton and 8-ton trucks and many 5-ton trucks are running regularly on truck routes and National Highway 1 (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, inter-province)
