Ms. Truong Thi Mai – member of Politburo, Secretaty of Party Cental Committee, Head of Central Commission of Mass Mobilisation awarded the third-class labour medal for the Vietnam Post Corporation.

Strong renovation, good fulfillment of tasks

At the ceremony, Vietnam Post has honor to receive congratulation flowers from Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, member of Politbureau, Prime Minister; Mr. Vo Van Thuong, member of Politbureau, Secretary of Party Central Committee, Head of Central Propaganda Department; Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, member of Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister.

Especially, at the ceremony, 74 labourers who has achieved good results in production and business of Vietnam Post in the past 10 years was honored. The ceremony was straight forecasted at 63 post offices nationwide in cities and provinces.

Mr. Do Ngoc Binh, Chairman of Vietnam Post had an opening speech at the ceremony. He recalled 20 years ago when the plan to separate Post and Telcoms was given in early 2000 and in 2001 the separation between Post and Telecoms was implemented at district level. Early 2005, the sepreation was implemented at province level in 6 provinces Can Tho - Hau Giang, Dac Lac – Dac Nong, Dien Bien - Lai Chau.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam believes that Vietnam Post will really become the representative of the Party and State every where from cities to mountain areas, remote areas and even in islands.

On the basis of pilot project of establishment of Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), in which mentioned the separation between Post and Telecoms to establish Vietnam Post Corporation on 01 June 2007, the Prime Minister issued the 674/QĐ-TTg on approval of the project of establishment of Vietnam Post Corporation and up to 15/6/2007, Minister of Post and Telecommunications (now Ministry of Information and Communications) issued the Decision 16/2007/QĐ-BBCVT on establishment of Vietnam Post Corporation. Following the guidelines of the Government and the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group has developed a proposal to separate postal activities from the VNPT. On 16/11/2012, the Prime Minister issued the Decision 1746/QĐ-TTg  on transferring  the right to represent the owner of the State at the Vietnam Post Corporation from the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group to the Ministry of Information and Communications and at the same time permit the change of its name into the Vietnam Post Corporation, a special state-owned corporation operating in the field of post with independent accounting and financial self-financing. Since then, besides August 15th, the traditional and historical day of the Post, we have another day, a memorable historical event, marking a new stage in the development of the Post sector, the founding day of Vietnam Post Corporation.

Vietnam Post is an only designated operator in Vietnam to fulfill the Universal Service Obligations. Inspite of many difficulties, Vietnam Post has ensured to provide public postal services for the last 10 years: letter post service, postal services for national protection and security, newspaper distribution. Especially, Viernam Post has not received any financial support from the government for public postal services since 2013. However, Vietnam Post has not only implemented all services very well but also got good results in production and business.

Vietnam Post built diversified strategy with 3 business core: Postal Delivery, Postal Financial Services, Distribution and Communication. Vietnam Post has also expanded his business field in Postal Delivery with a view to meet the demand of market development of e-commerce and logistics. Bill collection and payment services, insurance agency, ticket agency, banking agency and public administrative sevices such as pension payment, social insurance payment, payment of financial support for people having great contributions to the national revolution, penalty collection and payment, delivery of documents for traffic violation, fee collection of university or colleague enrollment documents, delivery of identify card, passport, driving licences, medical test results...has evaluated by people and managing organs.

Moreover, distribution and communications services has also expanded with a view to take advantage of the infrastructure network of 8,000 postal stations which now not only play an important role in implementing projects in rural area but also is service points for new services such as insurance, bank, telecommunication, consumer goods and public administrative service… The moedel of postal staion with muti-services is now being developed nationwide and is getting good results. The everage revenue of postal station with muti-services 24 million/point/month.

Launch of Corporate Culture Handbook of Viet Nam Post Corporation

Vietnam Post has deployed its Strategy with the effort and solidarity of all network. The revenue and labour’s income of  the next year is always higher than that of the previous year. This is shown by concret developing index from 2008 to 2016: the total revenue increased from  7,455 billion VND to 12,237 billion VND; The everage income increased from 4.42 million VND/person/month to 9.362 million VND/person/moth; The profit increased by 175 billion/year from the loss of 1,285 billion VND.

In Developing Strategy to 2020, Vietnam Post aimed at comprehensive renovation, developing 3 business cores: postal services, postal financial services and distribution and communications. To 2020, Vietnam Post will become the top national postal enterprise in East South Asia and achieve total revenue of  21,000 billion VND (Equivalent to $ 1 billion at the rate of issuance of the Strategy), everage growth of 20%/year. The total profit in erarly 2020 will achieve 600 billion VND, increase 38%/year.

Minister Truong Minh Tuan congratulates Vietnam Post on 10^th anniversary of establishment.  

Minister Truong Minh Tuan confirmed that all staff of Vietnam Post should continue to make great effort to maintain the stability and enhance the effectiveness of activities. Minister also noted that Vietnam Post need to implement general solutions on production and business and the developing strategy to 2020 which was approved by the Ministry of Information and Communications.

Minister confirmed also the Ministry of Information and Communications will control and support Vietnam Post, especially institutions, policies and legal corridor for state management in the postal sector to facilitate the postal business of Vietnam, including the Vietnam Post.

“Seeing Vietnam Post, seeing trust”

Speaking at the anniversary, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said over the past 10 years, Vietnam Post has been comprehensively renovated, has a very basic development. Beside postal acitivities, Vietnam Post contribute to the socio-economic development; providing public services in many fields; participating in administative reform, gradually becoming the extension arm of the administrative system to the people.

With efforts and good results, Deputy Prime Minister believed the partipation of Vietnam Post in administrative reform, cooperation with Vietnam Social Insurance, tax industry, Ministry of labour-invalids and social affairs and many authorites in the future indicated that Vietnam Post will really become representative of Party, State in every where from cities to mountainous areas, remote areas and islands. Wherever we see Vietnam Post, we see the trust.

Recognizing the outstanding achievements of the Vietnam Post during the past time, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Politburo members, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Commission for People Mobilization Truong Thi Mai Awarded Labor Medal third class to the Corporation.

At the ceremony, 10 units and 74 typical individuals who have made important contributions to the ten-year development process of the Vietnam Post have been honored and received the Medallion of the Vietnam Post Corporation.
