Viet Nam and Lao People's Democratic Republic promote cooperation in the field of Post

 Director General of Lao Post Somboun Insiraphanh has receipted and met with Vietnam Post’s Delegation. On the basis of the traditional friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the President & CEO of Vietnam Post and the Director General of Lao Post had an open and straight discussion on the current status and business situation of the two Posts.

Accordingly, Vietnam Post is willing to assist Laos Post in organization strengthening, sservices quality improvement and staff training, especially sales staff. Besides the implementation of traditional Postal Services, Vietnam Post shall assist Lao Post in conducting research and further developing Postal Financial Services, Insurance, Communications Distribution and Public Administration Services. At the same time, Vietnam Post shall also share its experiences on implementation of Lanexang Postal Insurance through Lao Post’s network.

President & CEO Pham Anh Tuan suggested Lao Post to include the above-mentioned content in its report to Laos Government so that it could gain supports in term of mechanism and policies as well as favourable conditions for initial investment, facilities and euipment and means of postal transportation.

To concretize the contents discussed by two Parties, Vietnam Post and Lao Post signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of Post at the Information and Communication Technology Forum held on 02nd November 2017 under the witness of Minister of Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan and Minister of Lao’s Posts and Telecommunications Thansamay Kommasith.
