Vietnam Post excellently accomplished the tasks for the year 2017

Though many difficulties remain, with its own initiative and determination, in 2017, the entire Corporation has significantly accomplished the assigned political assignment. The stable operation of public postal network was secured, public administrative services for the Party and State agencies were provided and, at the same time, the public postal network was effectively exploited for business development.  

 

Particularly, Vietnam Post has fulfilled all the criteria of 2017 work plan. Total revenue of the entire Corporation reached VND 16,476 billion, increased by 30% in comparision with 2016; total profit reached VND 299 billion, increased by 72% in comparision with last year. The Corporation also delivered VND 510 billion to the National Budget. Return on Equity of Holding Company exceeded the plan’s criteria assigned by the Ministry of Information & Communication, increased by 56% in comparision with 2016. Especially, labour productivity reached VND 749 million/person/year. Average income per capita in the entir Corporation increased by 10.4% in comparision with 2016. Subsidiary companies, associated companies continued to promote and remarkably contribute to the general business and production results of the Corporation.

Commenting on the services group of Vietnam Post, Chairman of the Board of Management Do Ngoc Binh said that all 03 groups of key services have achieved high growth. Concerning the Postal Delivery Services Group (including newspaper distribution), growth rate was higher than those in 2016. The Postal Financial Services Group continued to expand in terms of scale, quality of services and increasingly accounting for the proportion of total arising revenue of the Corporation. In particular, postal financial services have been growing steadily and sustainably, achieving a growth rate of 45%. The Media Distribution Group in 2017 also exceeded the plan while maximizing the advantages of the network to develop the retail services of telecommunication cards, goods and gradually dominate the rural market.


Sharing at the Conference, President & CEO Pham Anh Tuan told that with the effort of over 41,000 people in Vietnam Post, in 2017, productivity gained VND 749 million/person/year; the Corporation’s salary fund increased by 10% and 25% compared to the plan and the year 2016, respectively; Average income per capita in the entire Corporation increased by over 10% compared to 2016. Mechanisms and policies for labour all increased compared to 2016 (mid shift meals allowance increased from VND 500,000 to VND 600,000/person/month; training allowance increased from VND 200,000 to VND 300,000/person/month; unifrom, safety working clothing were continued to be equipped; payment of Social Insurance, voluntary Health Insurance for contracted labour was supported).

Many big working programs of the Corporation were implemented in 2017, creating favourable conditions for the business and production activities throughout the year, at the same time, creating a firm foundation for the Corporation’s activities in 2018 and the following years. Typically, the entire network has focused its resources to implement Decision No. 45/2016/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on receipt of applications and release of administrative results via public postal services and Decision No. 55/2016/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on postal network to serve the Party and State agencies; continued to deploy solutions to reforming the operation of Postal Culture Points system, formulating new operating model for the Postal Culture Points; reformed the organization model of production at key units, drew the organization options of operation at all units, continued to reform the production organization, invest facilities and equipments in different steps of production organization (transported by net container, equipped with belt conveyer, roller conveyer, roller pallet in Sorting step…); business development was drastically implemented; management and operation work were attached with high target; training for staffs’ capacity building was promoted; solutions to improving quality of services were aggressively implemented and the results were encouraged; the enhanced investment of facilities, equipments, tools in the entire Corporation has contributed to the high productivity of labours, improving quality criteria in the whole network; Vietnam Post has accomplished the target plan for the year 2017.

In 2018, Vietnam Post determines that it will continue to strive for business development, determined to early achieve its plan’s targets for the period of 2016 – 2020 and successfully implement the development strategy up to 2020. Accordingly, in 2018, Vietnam Post is determined to fulfill and exceed the turnover of VND 22,023 billion; profit will reach over VND 395 billion. In which, Holding Company – Vietnam Post will exceed the revenue of VND 20,360 billion; profit will reach VND 330 billion, increasing by 40% in comparision with last year.

With the momentum created since 2016 and 2017, Vietnam Post strongly believes that its entire network will jointly overcome and successfully accomplish the assigned plan’s basic targets as mentioned above.
