Vietnam Post gains 12,600 billion in revenue in first 6 months of 2020
Overview of Vietnam Post meeting
This result is achieved in the context that Vietnam Post has successfully completed the provision of public postal services and implemented important programs and projects of the Government and especially when the Covid-19 pandemic had a significant impact on business and production activities in the whole network.
Core business fields such as: postal and delivery services, postal financial services, communication and distribution, public administration services all witnessed an incredible growth. Of which, notably, postal financial services increased by an average of nearly 20% over the same period in 2019. PTI non-life insurance service increased by more than 86%, credit service increased over 30% over the same period in 2019.
Public administration service group of Vietnam Post also achieved impressive results during the Covid-19 pandemic and social distancing period across the country. In the first 6 months of 2020, the whole country had nearly 8.5 million records, the results of administrative procedures being transferred to the Post Office, an increase of 17% over the same period in 2019. Up to now, there are also 30 provinces and cities have deployed one-door sections at Post Offices, including 14 provincial public administrative centers, 46 one-door sections at district level and 64 one-door sections at commune level. 32 provinces and cities have arranged post office staff to support cadres and civil servants at one door section at all levels to receive dossiers from organizations, individuals and businesses.

Although having newly involved in the deployment of electronic identification and authentication, Vietnam Post has quickly built the electronic ID and authentication system and started to deploy it for free for people. Vietnam Post has now developed over 91,000 PostID accounts for people and business organizations across the country. The PostID electronic authentication system has been connected to the National Public Service Portal to log in and submit online documents on the National Public Service Portal and the connected Ministries and Agencies on the National Public Service Portal. PostID accounts can also log into Post Office systems to use the services provided by the Post Office or systems of other units connected to the Post Office (National Public Service Portal ...) to use the service without having to declare, create an account and verify information.
In addition, Vietnam Post also connects, integrates with the National Public Service Portal to deploy the return of driver's licenses to residents and return custody papers to traffic offenders when paying online fines on Gate.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Board of Management Mr. Nguyen Hai Thanh affirmed that the above results showed the great efforts of more than 50,000 Vietnam Post employees in the difficult conditions of the high competition in the domestic and international market. Chairman Nguyen Hai Thanh also noted that in the last 6 months of the year, the market had unpredictable developments, requiring higher efforts and determination from the leaders of Vietnam Post, its subsidiaries and employees. In business activities, all subsidiaries need to seriously implement business scenarios, accelerate the application of information technology in all activities, accelerate the progress of digital transformation projects, improving services in line with market. At the same time, they need to well deploy big projects in the fields of public administration, e-government, Vpostcode postal code.
President and CEO Mr. Chu Quang Hao said that Vietnam Post needed to take strong actions to complete the 2020 business plan.
President and CEO Chu Quang Hao emphasized that if not innovating, Vietnam Post would never be successful. He said that in order to complete the 2020 business plan, Vietnam Post needed to take strong actions, especially in the coming time, Vietnam Post leaders would further strengthen the inspection of the actual situation at the post offices in order to promptly remove the difficulties and problems of workers at the grassroots level, thereby operating production and business would be closer to reality.
With determination to successfully complete the main tasks, Vietnam Post’s production and business goals in 2020 set out specific requirements that needs daily actions for the leaders post offices of provinces and cities as well as tasks to leaders of departments, district post offices and central post offices to urgently deploy the production and business scenario of Vietnam Post in the next 6 months of 2020.
Also at the meeting, Vietnam Post rewarded 10 excellent subsidiaries in quarter 2/2020 including Post Office in provinces and citites: Phu Tho, Gia Lai, Da Nang; Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa and Ha Giang; Kon Tum, Phu Yen; Tra Vinh, Post and Transport Logistics Company.
In addition, Vietnam Post also commended and rewarded good business units, making great contributions to Vietnam Post’s production and business results in the second quarter of 2020; 16 business units have a track record of improving quality; 20 business units guaranteeing the quality of public postal services; 10 province and city post offices successfully completed the emulation movement to raise the quality and promote international postal service business; 15 business units have led the emulation movement "Commune Post and Culture - steadfast success", 34 business units developed the best participants of voluntary social insurance and many other awards.
