Pallet, or roll pallet, is specifically designed for loading/unloading commodities and items in postal sector. Together with the lifting table system, pallets carrying mail bags will be automatically loaded or unloaded from postal trucks tranposrting parcels and items. Maximum loading for 15-tons truck is 21 pallets, as for 8-tons truck is 16 pallets.

The application of pallet in sorting and delivery will not only improve the safety of customer’s items but also the productivity and quality of service across the entire network. In addition, the operation and sorting process will also become more convenient, reducing manual labor in the process of loading/unloading and receiving/delivery for postal truck. Futhermore, time for customer to receive postal items will be significantly shortened. This completely satisfies the requirements of Vietnam Post to expand its production and business as well as to comply with international quality standards, avoiding items damage. The printing cost for mail bag is also reduced. Delivery time of mail bag and the retention time of truck will be shortened in coparision with those before using roll pallet.

The implementation of the North-South pallet transportation route will be conducted in 03 stages. Stage 1: applied for transportation routes connecting Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh, Ho Chi Minh – Hanoi, Hanoi – Da Nang, Da Nang – Hanoi. Stage 2: applied for inter-provincial transportation routes. Stage 3: applied for all transportation routes through 63 provinces & cities.

Pallet is loaded into postal truck

According to Mr. Do Ngoc Binh, Chairman of the Board of Management of Vietnam Post, in order to ensure the expansion of production and business, Vietnam Post recently always concerned about investment activities namely, standardization of the operating layout, procurement of a series of tools and equipments, new investment on means of transportation… The investment on pallet system was decided by Vietnam Post after considering consultancy from many postal consultants. In fact, the latest pilot stage has demonstrated the remarkable improvement in the production and quality of goods. Items are always kept intact during transportation without any damage or impairment; transportation time is also shorter. Thereby, customer’s needs are satisfied. Besides the equipment of pallet, in the future, Vietnam Post will continue to invest in the expansion of operating layout and grand sorting centers in key economic areas across the country. Thereby, not only the increasing demand in e-commerce and logistics is met but also the delivery quality and productivity across the entire network are improved.
